I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the package. I expected something smaller. Somehow, the picture really doesn't do this pendant justice. I intentionally ordered the larger pendant (it seems that this comes in two sizes). Other reviews I read on the smaller one said that they were somewhat disappointed by the size so I decided to spend a little more to get the bigger one. I'm very happy that I did. For me, it's the perfect size. It's not huge but it's not earring size either. Keep in mind that Amber is a natural formation and comes in all shades. Some may have bits or bubbles in it or be lighter or darker shades. I love mine just the way it is!

When my husband told me he wanted to take me shopping for jewelry for Mother's Day I was excited. I knew I wanted to pick out something to complement the honey amber earrings he had given me for Christmas, and that I wanted an amber necklace of some kind. When I saw this, I thought it was cute. The price was acceptable, and my husband thought the saved trip to the jewelry store was right up his alley. (His last shopping trip with me to a jewelry store netted me a gorgeous upgrade to my wedding ring, and a downgrade to our savings account, so he was nervous about this!)When the amber pendant arrived, it was packaged in a little red box, and in a fabric sleeve inside that. It was well protected and it would make a nice presentation for gift giving purposes. When I removed it from the box and sleeve, my first though was "Wow! This is so pretty!!" I bought an Italian box chain necklace to hang it on and the contrast between the fine chain and the pendant is quite stunning.I have worn my pendant several times and have received numerous compliments while wearing it. I work with young children, and a few of them told me how pretty they thought it was. In my eyes that's the highest compliment I could get. If you are looking for a stunning amber piece to add to your jewelry collection, this one is reasonably priced and a nice size as well.

I first got an earring set for myself several months ago and in the meantime, my sister commented positively everytime I had them on. So, for her birthday in October, I ordered her the earring and necklace set. I know she will just love them because we have the same good taste. The amber just jumps out at you inside or outside of a building. Very beautiful and striking against the silver.
